About Me

Hi, my name is Phil Anderson and I live in North Idaho on ten acres after spending most of my life in Seattle, Washington.   I graduated from West Seattle High School in 1979, played some football in college then went about the business of learning about life.  I was married from 1983-2002.  Out of that marriage came two beautiful daughters.  My oldest goes to college in California and my youngest just graduated High School.

My career has been in customer service and I have gained much knowledge and experience relating to it.  I am writing a book on customer service that will be out this summer.  I have worked in retail, inside and outside sales.  Most recently I ran the premier valet service in Seattle for over ten years, Seattle City Valet.  We serviced Elliotts Oyster House, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, The Capital Grille and the Metropolitan Grill, among others.  I spent ten years selling lumber and hardware at Alki Lumber in West Seattle.  I was President of White Glove Cleaning Services and AMA Incorporated.  AMA Incorporated was a design+construction company and then added a Home Inspection Program.  I am currently using the knowledge I gained from Alki Lumber and AMA Incorporated on my Home Inspection DIY site.

I have experience in entertaining people, some of it by design, but mostly by happenstance.  I was entertainment director for Sahalie Ski Club, have written and recorded music, danced at Seattle City Ballet and was just recently accepted to play with the band at Lake City Community Church with Tod Hornby.  I also played the music in over 25 weddings in a 15 year period, as well as DJ’d wedding receptions and been hired as the wedding photographer.  I count Tony Gable as one of my musical mentors  and Edward DeCroce as one of my photography mentors.   In addition, I taught a high energy aerobics class at the West Seattle Family YMCA for over ten years with my good friend, Debbie Powell.

Shelley and I enjoy wine to the upmost and have a blog that we write about those experiences in, General Wine Thoughts.  She has two other businesses, Lambs and Ivy Gift Baskets and Taking Care of the Folks, as well as being a neonatal nurse for over 30 years.

My interests are photography, sports, music and wine.  I love the outdoors which I get a lot of here in Idaho.  I am a big University of Washington sports fan, primarily football.  GO DAWGS!  I love the Mariners and used to be a big SuperSonics fan until they up and moved to Oklahoma City.  I have coached basketball, football and soccer.  I am learning as much as I can about the Laws of the Universe, especially the Law of Attraction.  I find Bob Proctor’s Insight of the Day an inspiration.  If you’d like to sign up to recieve your Insight of the Day go to insightoftheday.
